  1. NOTE: The "Superfetch" service in newer versions of the Windows 10 Operating System has been renamed to "SysMain". Same rules apply as outlined in this tutorial. Windows 7/8/8.1 appear unaffected at the time of writing this.

  4. Best solution is to get an ssd card and reinstall windows onto the ssd. Tried many of time to fix the issue with my computer but getting the ssd worked. I recommend also getting 200 or more gb on the ssd as windows will good sum of memory.

  5. SO happy to have an iMac .. from 2011 !!!!! No problems ever- never an antivirus programme- never had a Virus and NEVER had to reset the machine.

  6. I just did it and hit restart. After a while of watching it say RESTARTING, I got this error pop up window: svchost.exe – system error. The system detected an overrun of a stack-based buffer in this application. This overrun could potentially allow a malicious user to gain control of this application.

I clicked ok because there was no other option, and then it immediately went into updating and is now currently updating. Any idea of what’s going on?

Update: now it has restarted and I still at 100% disk bangs head on desk

  9. I did this fix ysterday and to be honest it works for me now, but still it sometimes hits 100% and stay for like 3 or four minutes. anyway it is better than before. Can ui please provide more ideas to fix this problem? like disabling more services, because i know deep inside that this is a program problem not a hardware one.

  10. Thank you this helped a lot! I was worried that my disk was constantly using 100%. In regedit I had to set both superfetch and prefetcher to 0 to make it work.
