Epic Renditions Track 8 – Ramin Djawadi’s (and Sigur Ros’ arrangement inspiration) The Rains of Castamere from Game of Thrones with solo performances by Sarah Berresford and Lidia Alonso.

‘And who are you?’ the proud lord said,
‘that I must bow so low’
‘Only a cat of a different coat,
that’s all the truth I know’

‘A coat of gold, a coat of red,
a lion still has claws.
And mine are long, and sharp my lord
As long and sharp as yours.’

And so he spoke, and so he spoke,
that Lord of Castamere,
And now the rains weep o’er his halls
with no-one there to hear.
Yes now the rains, weep o’er his halls
and not a soul to hear.

  1. Hey all, so close to the new season wooo! Excited (& nervous) to say I'm doing my first ever q&a soon, please post your questions below! Ross

  2. I understand that it's good to put your emotion into your work but girl on the left in the beginning was damn near about to start crying while she was humming. So much emotion

  3. Love the instrumental, it would be better if a male would sing it though, adds more bravado in the lyrics where needed and more solemn tones where its needed. However, i saved it as my favorite, the young musicians are phenomenal.

  4. I’d delete the first part, until this wonderful woman starts singing, because this first part being so epic with chorus…doesn’t make sense in the context and the song’s background and it’s a huge contrast from her interpretation, because is precise, perfect

  5. I'm sitting here, angry while listening to this because it's so good but then I think about how the show wasted everything and grrrr

  6. For me the best version of this song. I love this voice and the instrumentalization is (for me) to the point. Chapeau.
